See It Say It Spell It! CVC Words - Phonics & Phonemic Awareness Activities

This differentiated, hands-on phonics games resource will help your students segment, spell, decode and write CVC words. These phonemic awareness activities will engage your students in a variety of activities and strategies to work with CVC words. This science of reading-aligned centers can be done in small groups or during centers.

There are 7 different activities and recording sheets included:

• Phoneme Segmentation: students will write the sounds of each word. They can also use magnetic letters or letter tiles to build the words and practice phoneme segmentation and blending.
• Writing: students write the word by saying the sounds in the word.
• Puzzles: in this challenging activity, students will assemble puzzles to make CVC words!
• Spin and Color: students spin, say the picture and color the word.
• Write The Room: students find CVC word pictures posted around the room and write the word.
• Mystery word: students say the picture and write the beginning sound in the box. Then they blend the sounds to uncover the mystery word!
• Phoneme substitution: students will change 1 sound to make a new word.
