Are you looking for a way to bring hands on, engaging, fun research and learning about pumpkins into your classroom? Do you want your students to learn the parts of a pumpkin and the life cycle of a pumpkin while writing about pumpkins?
This pumpkin research project is a fun, hands on, engaging way to bring research and writing about pumpkins into your classroom. Through whole group research, the use of graphic organizers and writing activities, students will learn all about pumpkins, parts of a pumpkin, and how pumpkins grow. Students will also conduct a science experiment to see if a pumpkin sinks or floats. And students will estimate and measure how many pumpkins tall they are! This resource makes research and writing simple and fun for all grades!
This pumpkin research pack is designed to be used in grades preK-5.
These pages are designed to make whole class charts and then students can complete their individual pages. For pre-K, kindergarten and 1st grade you can do research whole group through read aloud and videos. You then record the learning on the charts. Students can then copy their learning into their journal. For older grades, students can do independent research and complete their journal and share their learning with the class.
The student pages can be done separately or made into a pumpkin research journal. We make ours into farm book that students complete as we learn about pumpkins!
