Flowering Phonics Spring Editable Project - Phonemic Awareness - Sight Words, CVC Words, Letters, Sounds & More
This spring phonics activity is a great way for students to practice phonics and phonemic awareness skills. This phonics activity makes a great spring craft or spring bulletin board. Because this resource includes sight words, letters. sounds, and CVC words; you can use this resource to meet every child at their level so they can be successful and create a beautiful spring flower. Simply choose the best skill for each student or use the editable slides to create a project that best fits the needs of your class.
This resource includes editable PowerPoint slides so you can use this activity to practice and assess any skills: sight words, sounds, letters, CVC words, CVC-e words, blends, etc. You will type the words/skill you want onto the editable flowers to make this resource work for you and your students
It is designed to be a phonics assessment tool. Students will read, color, and cut out the words, letters or sounds they can identify. They will then glue the petals to a paper plate to make a flower. After gluing all the petals on, glue a circle on top to make the center of the flower. The more petals on your flower, the better! You can display these in the hallway or classroom (with student names written on the back!)
Suggested Use:
Print the words you want to assess. Call students to your table/desk one at a time. Have them read the words. For every word, letter or sound they can read, place a small red dot on that word. Students will color and cut out only the words with the red dots.
To Differentiate
You can do a visual recognition activity. Have the words or letters written on index cards and students can match the words on the card to the words on the paper.
Year-Long Bundle - also available as part of our Sight Word Project Bundle.
