Fix It Up! Penguin Sentence Building Subject & Predicate

This sentence activity helps students understand complete sentences. Students will learn about the subject and predicate in a kid-friendly, engaging way that is aligned with the science of writing and the science of reading. This winter activity is easily differentiated for readers and non-readers. Kids will love learning about sentences as they dress up their penguins!

This resource is designed for whole groups or small groups, but it is also easily differentiated for use with independent centers work.

Included:

• Directions and teacher materials
• Subject and predicate cards
• Pengiun to dress up
• Penguin clothing and accessories
• Recording sheet

Directions: Students will pick from the sentence part cards and read the card. For non-readers, the teacher will read the card out loud. The student will place the card in the correct pile for a subject or a predicate. For every card they get correct the student earns an accessory to dress the penguin.
